K-POP (korean pop/korean popular music)
is a musical genre consisting of dance,electronic, electropop, hip hop, and R&B music originating in South Korea. In addition to music, K-pop has grown into a popular subculture among teenagers and young adults around the world, resulting in widespread interest in the fashion and style of Korean idol groups and singers.
Through the presence of Facebook fan pages, availability on iTunes, Twitter profiles, and music videos on YouTube, the ability of K-pop to reach a previously inaccessible audience via the Internet is driving a paradigm shift in the exposure and popularity of the genre.South Korean popular culture is today serving as a major driver of youth culture all across the Pacific Rim and Eurasia, with special reference to China, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and much of Southeast Asia.
I think I started to be fond of k-pop when korean dramas started on television. I was moved by their background theme songs, kahit hindi ko ma-gets ang sinasabi ng singer ng kanta. In our famiLy i was the only one so addicted to k-pop. I used to burn CD's of pure korean songs, memorize the lyrics till my nose bleeds and even print out pictures of korean singers and collect it compiled in an album.

T-ARA
a South Korean girl group formed by Core Contents Media in 2009. The meaning behind the group's name, which is based on the word "tiara", comes from the idea that they will become the "crowned queens of the music industry".Before their debut, there was a high level of interest in the group as they were called the "Super Rookies" and had been training for three years prior.
Originally a five-member group composed of Jiyeon, Eunjung, Jiae, Jiwon, and Hyomin, they released their first song "Joheun Saram" (좋은 사람, "Good Person") for the soundtrack of the Korean drama Cinderella Man in April 2009. After Jiae and Jiwon withdrew from the group in June, T-ara debuted as a six-member group with the addition of Boram, Qri and Soyeon in July 2009.I love their song- " I GO CRAZY CAUSE OF YOU".

2ne1 is a new South Korean female girl group created by YG entertainment. Originally called “21,” the band has since made some new changes to their name. The 21 in the group’s name references the 21st century, while the “ne” of their name stands for New Evolution. The name change was due to a male Korean singer already using the name 21. This band was created by YG to be a female counterpart to their highly successful male pop group, Big Bang.
2ne1 is composed of four different members, Sandara Park, Park Bom (Jenny Park), Kong Min Ji, and Chae Lee (CL or Faith Lee). Unlike most girl bands, 2ne1 has a large variation in age with Sandara Park and Park Bom both being 24 and 25 years old respectively, while Kong Min Ji and Chae Lee are both teenagers at 15 and 19 respectively

During their debut single, the group was noted for being “hip hop warriors,” but changed this perception with “I Don’t Care” into strong, feminine women. During the “It Hurts (Slow)” music video, the members were noted for their gothic, black attire and strange hair and wigs. In addition, the members have also been known for having a unique femininity and cuteness. They are also known for being international stars as part of the Hallyu, or Korean Wave.
